14.2 - General warnings on gas supply
For first start-up of the appliance carry out the following
checks:
That it is powered by the type of fuel for which it is set up.
That the gas supply pressure (with the appliance on and
off) falls between the maximum and minimum values shown
in the table in section 17.
That the gas adduction system has all the safety and
checking devices expected by national and local regulations
in force.
That the flue gas outlet terminal and the combustion air
intake terminal are free from any obstruction.
That the flue gas outlet terminal and the combustion air
intake terminal are located outside the building.
That the condensate outlet is connected.
WARNING! It is forbidden to supply the
appliance with a type of gas other than those
anticipated.
WARNING! Check that the supply pressure and
gas are the ones for which the appliance is set.
The appliance is provided with the relevant gas conversion kit.
Before installation it is recommended that the inside of the
gas adduction pipe be cleaned thoroughly;
a shut-off cock must always be installed on the gas
adduction pipe;
to avoid damage to the appliance’s gas control assembly,
carry out the seal test at a pressure of not more than 50
mbar;
if the test of the gas system has to be carried out at
pressures greater than 50 mbar, turn the cock located
immediately up-stream from the appliance, to isolate it
from the system.
In figure 8-4 you can check the position of the gas connection.
The sections of tubing making up the gas adduction system
must always ensure a supply of gas that is sufficient to cover
the maximum demand.
WARNING! If there is a smell of gas:
A - Do not turn on any electrical device, including a
telephone, or any item that could cause sparks;
B - Immediately open doors and windows to create
a draught that will quickly clear the room of gas;
C - From another room, or failing that from a
neighbour’s, immediately call a professionally
qualified technician or the gas supply company.
In their absence, call the fire service.
14.3 - Type of gas for which the appliance
is adjusted.
On the right side of the appliance there is a label stating the
type and supply pressure of the gas for which the appliance
is set.
The appliance can have the following 2 wordings:
2H-G20-20mbar METHANE
means that the appliance is set to operate with gas G20
(methane) of group H of the second family, at a supply
pressure of 20 mbar.
3P-G31-37mbar LPG
means that the appliance is set to operate with gas G31
(propane or LPG) of group P of the third family, at a supply
pressure of 37 mbar.
