DRIVING TIPS
PAVED AREAS
• Try not to drive over paved surfaces as much as possible.
• Turn gradually and drive with caution if you need to drive on paved ways.
• Do not activate 4x4 or the differential in paved ways.
DRIVING THROUGH WATER
• Prevent from driving through water if possible.
• NEVER drive through fast-moving waters or waters deeper than 37 cm.
This may cause losing control of the vehicle, being carried by the flow or
even overturn.
• Before going into water first choose where to cross, avoid rocks or sudden
descents. Always choose progressive descents.
• Pay particular attention and care when doing these operations.
REVERSE GEAR
• NEVER engage reverse if vehicle is not completely stopped. This causes a
fast deterioration of the gearbox and could damage it.
• If manoeuvres in a little space are needed , make sure vehicle is completely
stopped before shifting gears from forward to reverse and viceversa.
• NEVER force reverse, if it does not engage press lightly the accelerator
and try again.
UNKNOWN TERRAINS
• If you do not know the terrain check it before driving in order to find
hidden obstacles or elements that may be dangerous for your ride.
• Drive with caution and always use existing pathways.
• Drive with extra caution if visibility is poor.
DRIVING WITH LOAD
When driving
with load
in the cargo box or with a trailer:
- Reduce the speed and operate with LOW gear (L).
- Avoid hills or slopes.
- Load the cargo box correctly and drive with extra caution.
- A load with more than 450 kg may pose a risk for vehicle occupants.
NEVER exceed that weight load in the cargo box.
• When you drive
towing any load
:
- Do not exceed 16 km/h when towing a heavy load with a short gear
engaged.
- Do not drive aggressively when towing a load.
- Take into account that braking distance and vehicle stability will be
affected by weight towed.
- Never park in slopes when a load is being towed.
- Avoid driving in unkwnown or difficult terrains. If needed, reduce the
speed significanltly and be aware of any danger that may be found.
- Always distribute weight between cargo box and trailer if possible. It
will help improving vehicle stability.
