4.2.3   Statistics. 

The Statistics web page is used for advanced debugging of D2 W MDME 2400.  This web page 

details the state of the D2 W MDME 2400 and its performance in the system. 

 

4.2.4   Network Traffic Analysis. 

There are many devices and PC programs that will analyze performance of an Ethernet network.  
Freely available programs such as Ethereal provide a simple, cost-effective means for more 
advanced analysis.  By monitoring traffic on the wired Ethernet, a better idea of regular traffic can be 
discovered.  

Network Analysis programs make configuration of a filter for the D2 W MDME 2400 a simple task.   

 

4.3

 

Testing Radio Paths 

The general procedure for radio range testing a link is fairly simple.  Configure two units to form a 
link using automatic radio rates.  Install the Access Point at a fixed location.  Take a laptop computer 
and the Client to each of the remote locations, and analyze the link using the Connectivity web page.  
If a beacon is heard from the Access Point, the Client will update its Connectivity web page with the 
received signal strength of beacon messages from the Access Point.
