4.3.7 Changing Engine Oil And Filter:
Review the Operator’s Manual for the engine. Specific
procedures may vary depending on engine model.
WARNING: Hot Components
Allow the engine to cool before changing
the oil. Hot oil can cause burns if it contacts
exposed skin.
Note:
It is best to change oil while engine is warm
to keep contaminants in suspension.
1. Place a pan under the drain plug.
2. Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain
for 10 minutes.
3. Install and tighten the drain plug.
4. Remove engine oil filter.
5. Dispose of the filter and used oil in an approved
container.
6. Apply a light coat of oil to the O-ring of the new
filter and install. Snug up by hand, then tighten
another half turn.
7. Fill the crankcase with specified oil.

8. Run the engine for 1-2 minutes and check for oil
leaks.
9. If leaks are found, tighten drain plug slightly.
10. Check engine oil level. Top up as required.
