Bar Code Driver [bcdriver.exe]
The Compsee Bar Code Driver is implemented as a Terminate &
Stay Resident (TSR) DOS program. The program requires
approximately 44K of memory when running and allows the Apex
PDT programmer to stipulate usable bar code symbologies and
change certain characteristics.
Driver Options And Modifiers
Options
Driver options can be set using two methods.
q From the command line - Options and modifiers can be
specified on the command line when the driver is initially run
or at any other time by issuing a new command line with new
options. If the driver has not been previously loaded during
DOS booting, performing this operation will set the initial
operating parameters. If the driver is already loaded, this
method modifies the previous option settings already
installed. The command line is parsed from left to right.
q From an application, using the driver API (Application
Programming Interface). This describes a series of formal
interface functions for communicating with the driver.
Optional parameters are implemented using the following criteria:

If an option is identified in the command line, the option is
turned ON by default.
q
If the option is immediately preceded by a minus sign (
−
), the
option is turned OFF.
q
If the option is immediately preceded by a question mark (?),
the current value of the option is returned to the screen. No
change is made to the option or its modifiers.
q
All options are case insensitive. Upper and lower case may
be freely mixed for clarity.
