Verify that the proper communications port on the Apex PDT
is enabled for the communications method being utilized (IR
port or RS-232 serial port).
5. On the Apex PDT, set the Apex PDT File Transfer Utility
parameters using one of the following methods:
Running The Program And Choosing Options From The
Command Line:
5.1 Run the File Transfer Utility from the command line
(
C:\>
) by typing “dx” followed by the options you wish
to select then pressing <ENT>. Refer to the Utilities
section of this manual for additional details.
Opening The File Transfer Utility Program And Selecting
Options From Within The Program:
5.1 Start the File Transfer Utility by typing “dx” then
pressing <ENT> at the prompt (
C:\>
).
“Command?” will appear.
5.2 Choose the optional command from those listed below:
Note: Choose the send or receive option last for
transfer to occur.
Option Description
bn change baud rate, where n is new baud rate.
Acceptable rates include 300, 1200, 2400,
4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, and
115200. Default rate is 115200.
c change directory, note that drive cannot be
changed.
d lists files in local directory
i specifies IR port usage
l gets file names from a text file listing (allows
multiple file transfers)
q quiet mode (flip/flop)
r receive file(s)
s send file(s)
t terminal (test) mode (allows Apex PDT screen
to display characters typed on the PC)
v verbose mode
w use wired RS-232 connection (i.e. Serial End
Cap use)
x exit the program
! exit after transfer show program settings
? or <F1> displays help
