Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500
The ProLiant CL380 comes standard with one Shared Storage RAID
Controller CR3500, which is located in bay 1 (top), and support for a second
one. If the second optional Shared Storage RAID Controller CR3500 is
installed, the controllers are redundant and hot-replaceable. Follow these steps
to install the Shared Storage RAID controller CR3500:
CAUTION:
If a controller is also part of a redundant pair that is operating
normally, removing one of the controllers will cause any data in the cache to be
lost.
1.
To ensure you have the latest firmware for the CR3500 RAID
Controller, check the Compaq website:
http://www.compaq.com/support
2.
Suspend all I/O to the shared storage subsystem by stopping access to
the drives in the shared storage area.
NOTE:
Refer to your Operating System documentation for information on suspending I/Os.
3.
Save the existing configuration of the CR3500 RAID Controller.
NOTE:
For more information on saving the CR3500 RAID Controller configuration, refer to
the
Compaq ProLiant CL380 Software User Guide.
