Replacing a Server Node Power Supply
CAUTION:
Removing a server node power supply will power down the node and
cause the applications owned by that node to fail over to the other node.
For instructions on removing and replacing a hot-plug power supply in the
shared storage area, see the section, “Replacing a Hot-Plug Redundant Power
Supply,” earlier in this chapter.
1.
If the node is not already powered down, fail over all applications for
the node that will be powered down. For more information on failing
over applications, refer to your system software documentation from the
manufacturer.
If the shared storage area power supplies are both operating normally,
one power supply can be removed and reinstalled in place of the failed
server node power supply. This allows the system to return to its default
configuration immediately. The shared storage area power supply must
be replaced for redundant power supply operation.
NOTE:
The shared storage area fault LED indicator will remain lit until both power supply
bays in the shared storage area are populated.
