KVM Switch
The ProLiant CL380 comes equipped with a dual-port keyboard, video, and
mouse (KVM) switch that allows you to control both server nodes with the
same keyboard, video, and mouse. For more information on the KVM switch,
see Appendix F, “KVM Switch.”
Optional KVM extension cables allow you to attach the ProLiant CL380
server nodes to a switch box. For more information on KVM extension cables,
either see Chapter 4, “Installing Hardware Options,” or your option
documentation.
Pre-Failure Warranty
The Compaq ProLiant CL380 server nodes include Pre-Failure Warranty for
processors, hard drives, and memory purchased from Compaq through a
Compaq authorized reseller. Under the terms of this warranty, supported
components are eligible for replacement before they actually fail, provided
that you use Compaq Insight Manager to determine that supported components
have degraded below predetermined reliability thresholds within the product
warranty period. The warranty includes:
■
Three-year on-site limited worldwide warranty
■
Pre-Failure Warranty on processors, memory, and hard drives from
Compaq
NOTE:
The equipment in the shared storage area, including shared storage drives in the
system or in optional shared external storage, is excluded from the Pre-Failure Warranty.
Compaq Insight Manager Alert
When Compaq Insight Manager alerts you that a component may be eligible
for Pre-Failure Warranty replacement, follow the on-screen instructions or
contact a Compaq authorized service provider in your area. A yellow status
indicator on the Compaq Insight Manager control panel signals that a
component is in a degraded condition. Compaq recommends that you replace
the component in a pre-failure condition.
