Installing a Hot-Plug Ultra2 or Ultra3 Hard Drive
CAUTION:
One hard drive in each server node is the boot drive for that node.
Removing the boot drive while it is operating normally will cause the node to fail
over.
NOTE:
When combining Ultra2 and Ultra3 hard drives, all of the drives are limited to
response times no faster than the maximum burst rate of up to 80 MB/s on the Ultra2
SCSI bus, or the transfer rate of the slowest device in the array.
1.
Open front bezel doors (tower model only).
2.
Remove the hard drive blanking panel from the hot-plug hard drive
cage.
3.
Insert the hot-plug drive

4.
Close the ejector lever

Close front bezel doors (tower model only).
NOTE:
To ensure that the drive is properly latched, pull on the drive after closing the
lever. If the drive is not secured in the bay, open the ejector lever and reseat the drive.
