SCSI ID Numbers for External Shared Storage
Option (Single Bus)

The ProLiant CL380 supports up to six hot-plug Ultra2 or Ultra3 hard drives
in the shared storage area of the system. When an optional ProLiant
StorageWorks Enclosure Model 4214 is connected to the system, the system
supports up to 14 Ultra2 or Ultra3 hard drives. Please see Appendix H,
“SCSI ID Configurations,” in this guide for more information.

IMPORTANT:

  The total number of shared storage drives that the system can support is

limited to 14. This limitation is due to the number of available SCSI IDs and may not
reflect the number of drive bays available if external storage is connected to the system.
Please see Appendix H, “SCSI ID Configurations” for more information.

There are two possible external shared storage configurations for the Model
4214 enclosure. The first configuration uses a single bus Model 4214 and the
second configuration uses a Model 4214 with a 4210 Dual Bus option.
