6.9 Operation/Setting Function Depending on Application
(1) Chart Paper Lighting Brightness Dimming
This product includes the chart paper lighting as standard, and the
lighting brightness can be adjusted.
1) Brightness Dimming Level
The brightness dimming has four levels. This instrument is set
to Level 2 of the standard brightness before shipping.
2) Switching Method for Brightness Dimming Level
When the right key (
►
) and ENTRY key are pressed
simultaneously, the brightness dimming levels are switched in the
following order for each press (Refer to 6.2 Operation/Setting
Change (2) Key Operation Type).

(2) Key Lock Function
This instrument has the key lock function that restricts
setting/operation (Refer to 6.2 Operation/Setting Change (3) DIP
Switch Function).
1. When No. 6 of the DIP switches is placed down, the key lock
function is enabled. When the key lock function is enabled,
various settings cannot be changed (Refer to 6.2
Operation/Setting Change (5) Operating Condition).
2. With actual operations, key operations are enabled for up to
confirmation of setting details.
If the key lock is invalid, setting information is written within the
instrument with ENTRY key operation, and setting details are
changed by blinks of the alarm lamp; however, when the key
lock is valid, this ENTRY key operation is invalid, and settings
cannot be changed.
3. In the key lock state, even if ENTRY key is pressed at the step
of setting values to be changed, nothing is responded, and
three items (RUN, ALARM, and CAL) of MODE lamps give
short blinks for 1.5 seconds simultaneously.
4. After confirmation of setting details, press MODE key, and then
the setting mode is finished.
5. When settings are changed again, in the operation mode,
place No. 6 of DIP switches to OFF (key lock release), and
then perform setting change operation.

The chart paper lighting of this instrument functions as the
lighting for the scale plate. When the lighting lights the scale
plate, the reflection of the glass surface of the front door is
used.
When the indication of the scale plate is read in the dark, close
the door for better sight. If the door is opened, some area of the
plate may not be lit and less bright.
Lighting of Scale Plate
There is no monitor indication to indicate that key lock is
enabled. Check the state of the DIP switches, and then check
that the key lock is valid/invalid.
Key Lock State Confirmation
When the brightness level is switched, the alarm lamp blinks
for about 1.5 seconds (The brightness level information is
written within the instrument.).
Brightness Level Switching
Avoid looking the light of the chart paper lighting directly.
The intense light may affect your eyesight.
Avoid Looking the Light Straight.
When the brightness level of the chart paper lighting is set to
“0” = OFF, the chart paper lighting lights for a moment on the
power OFF. This is not abnormal.
