7. OPERATION
7.3 Behavior on Abnormal Input
(1) Behavior on Over-range/Under-range Input
If values that exceed the measuring range (0 % to 100 %) are input, the
pointer moves to only slightly outside of the both sides of the scale plate
(0 % or 100 %). If values that exceed this position are input, the pointer
is fixed at this position.
(2) Behavior on Burnout (Optional)
The burnout is the feature to move the pointer to either end of the scale plate
when a sensor (thermocouple or resistance thermometer) is disconnected.
Specify the type of burnout correctively for the relevant scale of all input
channels.

In the case of the figure right, the pointer is fixed at the under-range
position for (1), and at the over-range position for (2).

Lower limit burn
Pointer moves to under-range position.
Upper limit burn
Pointer moves to over-range position.
Types and Behavior of Burnout
If input is opened in the state of no burnout function,
indication/recording values become unstable.
Indication/recording may be placed in the lower limit
position, or in the higher limit position temporarily;
however, that state is not guaranteed.
Indication/recording on Input Open
The input disconnection is detected by applying a pulse voltage. Parallel
operation cannot be performed because the parallel connection affects
other instruments (such as a controller).
Burnout Detection Method
Pointer position
(1) Under-range
Position that moved to about 0.45% (about 0.8mm) lower side from the record 0% position
(2) Over-range
Position that moved to about 0.45% (about 0.8mm) upper side from the record 100% position
