Installation
For installation proceed as follows, with reference to the wiring diagrams:
l
before performing any operations on the control board, disconnect the main power supply by turning
the main switch in the electrical panel OFF;
l
avoid touching the control board, as electrostatic discharges may damage the electronic components;
l
the index of protection required for the application must be ensured by the manufacturer of the
cabinet or by suitable assembly of the controller;
l
connect any digital inputs, Lmax = 10 m;
l
connect the actuators: the actuators should only be connected after having programmed the
controller. Carefully evaluate the maximum ratings of the relay outputs as indicated in “Controller
electrical and physical specifications”;
l
program the controller: see “User interface”;
l
for the connection of the Master/Slave network and user interfaces, use shielded cable and check the
maximum distances and cable sizes specified in “Electrical specifications”
l
for the safety devices (e.g. circuit breakers), refer to the following standards:
o
IEC 60364-4-41;
o
regulations in force in the country in question;
o
connection technical requirements of the power company.
Important:
the following warnings must be observed when connecting the controllers::
l
incorrect connection to the power supply may seriously damage the controller;
l
use cable ends suitable for the corresponding terminals. Loosen each screw and insert the cable
ends, then tighten the screws and lightly tug the cables to check correct tightness;
l
separate as much as possible the probe and digital input cables from cables to inductive loads and
power cables, so as to avoid possible electromagnetic disturbance. Never run power cables
(including the electrical panel cables) and probe signal cables in the same conduits;
l
do not install the probe cables in the immediate vicinity of power devices (contactors, circuit
breakers, etc.); reduce the path of probe cables as much as possible, and avoid spiral paths that
enclose power devices.

SPARK:
configuration
and
commissioning
software
SPARK is the configuration software, available for laptops, specifically designed to meet the needs of
manufacturers and installers of multiplexed cabinets. The software is used to:
l
configure access and password levels;
l
change parameter sets and create custom read/write lists to upload to the device;
l
add languages and parameter descriptions;
l
view the trends of physical quantities in real time, with the possibility to save data in Excel format.
For the electrical connection, use the USB/RS485 converter CVSTDUMOR0.
