Oocyte lyses after oolemma
penetration.*

Reduce suction in the pipette.

* Some degree of lysis may be expected, especially for mouse oocytes, due to the inherent
fragility of the oocytes. Human, non-human primate, rabbit, goat, sheep and pig oocytes
typically are much more robust than mouse oocytes for microinjection procedures. In
addition, larger pipette sizes often will lead to higher rates of lysis. Therefore, pipettes
should be sized to the smallest diameter suitable for the application.
