Pre-Assembled Rhino - Installation Manual

Appendix 11: How to Install a Vacrel®

The VacRel® is a high-performance Vacuum Relief Valve for Solar Pool
Heating. It has been designed to allow filtered air to easily enter the
system, therefore assisting in the drain down process and reducing the
risk of vacuum crush of the PVC pipework.

Installation Position of the VacRel®

The ideal position for the VacRel® on a Rhino solar pool heating
system is in a 40mm PVC Tee-Fitting on the supply line. The Tee
Should be glued so that the VacRel® will sit vertically once
installed.

Steps for installation:

Step 1:

Take note of where the VacRel® is to be installed

Step 2:

Glue a 40mm PVC Tee-Fitting into its appropriate position using standard plumbing

techniques, making sure the upper socket is as vertical as possible

Step 3:

Apply primer and glue to both the fitting and VacRel® before gluing into place. Clean any

excess clue so that the top cap can still be removed in future for maintenance

Step 4:

Wait 24 hours for all solvents to fully set before pressurising the system
