Appendix 8: Installing the End Caps
Caps are generally used to plug any free end of the solar array; these End Caps are generally installed at
opposite the corners to where the Supply and Return lines are located.
To install the End Caps:
Step 1:
Clean both interconnecting coupling grooves and mating
surfaces of the two components being connected with a clean
rag.
Step 2:
Insert one (1) Seal Ring into either mating coupling groove.
Step 3:
Push the two couplings together ensuring that the inserted Seal Ring enters the opposing
mating groove while placing the bottom portion of the Ring Clamp Assembly under the
coupling components you are connecting.
Step 4:
Hinge the top half of the Ring Clamp Assembly over the coupling components and squeeze
the top and bottom portions together until the two (2) retaining lock fingers securely clip and
lock the two halves of the Ring Clamp together.
Step 5:
Using a Phillips Head Screwdriver, permanently lock the two halves of the hinged Ring Clamp
Assembly together using the one (1) supplied button screw. Tighten until secure.
