What to Know about Setting Up Notifications and Alerts

WARNINGS

• Always keep

Bluetooth

settings ON for your phone and App when

you are using Bigfoot Unity.

Bluetooth

is required to receive Low

Glucose, Sensor Unavailable, and Long-Acting Dose Alerts and to
view current glucose range information on the App Home screen. If
your phone does not receive glucose information from the Sensor,
you may not know if you have low or high glucose.

Your App will indicate if

Bluetooth

is not turned on. You can only

use the App for 4 hours after

Bluetooth

is turned off.

• You must allow Critical Alerts for the Bigfoot Unity App to receive

Bigfoot Unity Alerts, including the Very Low Glucose Alert, even
when your phone is muted or set to “Do Not Disturb.”

Do NOT turn off Critical Alerts. If you do not have Critical Alerts
turned on, you will not receive alerts that your glucose is low or that
your Sensor glucose information is not available when your phone is
muted or set to “Do Not Disturb.”

Your App will indicate if Critical Alerts are not turned on. You can
only use the App for 4 hours after Critical Alerts are turned off.

• You must allow Notifications for the Bigfoot Unity App to receive

Bigfoot Unity Alerts on your phone when you are not actively
viewing the App.

Do NOT turn off Notifications. If you do not allow alert Notifications,
or if your phone is not on, you will not receive alerts that your
glucose is low, that your Sensor has stopped working, or that you
may have missed a dose of long-acting insulin.

• If you use the Screen Time feature on your phone to set Downtime

or App Limits, make sure to select the Bigfoot Unity App as
Always Allowed in your phone’s Screen Time settings. If you use
these features to set time limits for the Bigfoot Unity App, you will
not be able to open the App or receive any Alerts including that
your glucose is low or that your Sensor glucose information is
not available. Either turn off Downtime and App Limits or add the
Bigfoot Unity App as Always Allowed.

• Alerts and Notifications appear on the phone only and do NOT

appear on the Caps or the Sensor itself. Make sure to have your
Bigfoot Unity App and phone set up properly to receive alerts.
Receiving Alerts and Notifications on your App/phone can help
prevent severe low or high glucose.
