4.2 Connection
4.2.1 Short-circuit protection
The choice of back-up fuses F should ensure both short-circuit protection for the transformer and se-
lectivity for the overcurrent devices connected downstream in the IT systems.
The connecting wires between the automatic transfer switching devices and the overcurrent protec-
tive device downstream are to be laid so that they are short-circuit and earth-fault proof.
When choosing back-up fuses, keep to both the maximum permissible values laid down by the
guidelines which apply to the site of use and national and international standards to make sure that
the contacts do not weld.
For recommendations on the use of the appropriate fuse, refer to the nameplate of the ATICS® and
to the ordering information in this manual.
