4.10 Mapping circuit using test leads connection
Mapping a circuit can be only performed on de-energized circuit when using test leads
connection.
1. Switch the breaker/fuse to the OFF position.
2. Set up the transmitter and receiver as described in the Precision Tracing section.
3. Scan face plates of receptacles and wires connecting loads with the TIP Sensor of the
AT-6000-RE.
4. All the wires, receptacles and loads that have a strong signal as indicated by the AT-
6000-RE are connected to this breaker/fuse.

4.11 Tracing breakers/fuses on systems with Light Dimmers
The light dimmers can produce significant amount of electrical “noise”, that consists of
multi frequency signal. In some rare situations, the receiver can miss-read this noise, often
called a “ghost” signal, as a transmitter generated signal. In such situation, the receiver will
provide wrong readings.
When locating breakers or fuses on systems with light dimmers, make sure the dimmer is off
(the light switch is off). This will prevent the receiver to indicate a wrong breaker/fuse.
