Initializing and Setting Up the Routers

112768 Rev. B

3-13

4.

Save the configuration file as startup.cfg.

Accept the default name of startup.cfg. Save this initial IP configuration to the
file to maintain a permanent copy. If you do not save the configuration to a
file, you will lose it the next time you reboot the router.

The router then tests the IP interface configuration by “pinging” its own
interface. If successful, it prompts you for the IP address of the Site Manager
workstation.

5.

Enter the IP address of the Site Manager workstation.

The router pings the Site Manager workstation. If the ping is successful, the
initial IP interface is enabled and the script displays this message:

Quick-Start Installation Completed

The Technician Interface prompt appears. Do not reboot the router after
successfully completing this procedure.

If you are using router software, refer to the Site Manager installation instructions
in Quick-Starting Routers and BNX Platforms. After installing Site Manager, refer
to Using Site Manager Software and Configuring Routers to continue with the
configuration.

If you are using BayStream software, refer to Getting Started with Site Manager
to install Site Manager and continue with the configuration.

Note:

Boot with the ti_5000.cfg file and run install.bat to configure the initial

interface. Then install Site Manager to build a complete configuration.
