Cleaning the ECRM

Untracked Freehand
The transducer is moved freely by the user.
If you start to make a measurement on a 3D data set acquired using the untracked
freehand method, the following warning appears in red on the screen to remind you
that the measurement will not be accurate.

3D Scanning Overview
Here is an overview of the steps involved in acquiring a 3D data set. The rest of this
chapter contains detailed information about the procedures.
To make a 3D scan:

Check all the connections.

Connect the relevant mover, if needed.
3 Choose the Diagnostic Setup you want.
4 Optimize the 2D image.
5 Turn on 3D. If you have not entered a Patient ID, the Patient window opens.
6 Set the image capture settings that you want.

Adjust the ROI markers to include the area of interest to be scanned.
Once you have defined the image capture settings, you can begin scanning.

or click or Acquire.
NOTE: You can also use the Start/Stop button on the ECRM to start and stop
scanning. The ECRM’s red button is for emergency stops.
The time taken to complete the scan depends on the chosen frame rate, step size
and scan extent. To stop the scan at any time, click Stop next to the progress bar.
WARNING Do not push the probe hard against the patient because doing so may
deform the structure being imaged or stall the positioner.
WARNING You cannot make accurate measurements on a 3D data set acquired
using the untracked freehand method.
