Storage
All B-K Medical ultrasound equipment should be stored in a cool, dry place and
should never be exposed to temperatures below -25°C (-13°F) or above 70°C
(140°F). Maximum storage humidity is 85% RH.
Maintenance
The scanner and transducers require regular maintenance.
Scanner Maintenance
To ensure scanner stability and performance, preventive maintenance should be
carried out once a year. This must be done by a B-K Medical technician or a suitably
qualified engineer.
Full detailed procedures for the preventive maintenance program can be found in the
2202 Service Manual (BI2201), which can be obtained from B-K Medical. The
program covers many areas:

All the equipment necessary for carrying out preventive maintenance can be obtained
from B-K Medical.
Palm Control Unit Maintenance
The PCU should be checked by a B-K Medical service representative after every 150
times of disinfection by immersion.

Checking Procedure Verify the correct operation of the main functions of

Electrical Safety Test Verify that the system complies with EN/IEC 60601-1
[2] or UL 2601-1 [3] or CSA C22.2 No. 601.1–M90 [4].
Checking the ECG Module Check the ECG Module to verify that the system
complies with EN/IEC 60601-1 [2] or UL 2601-1 [3] or
CSA C22.2 No. 601.1–M90 [4].
