2. Install external cables.

3. Install power and ground wiring.

4. Install cable lines and trunks.

5. Power up the system and boot load the system software.

6. Perform acceptance (field factory) tests.

7. Configure the system for the site environment and perform the startup tests.

Installing MPS Cabinets

The MPS 500 Pre installation Site Survey document, which can be obtained from the Avaya Support
Portal site, contains installation specifications and instructions on developing the equipment room
floor plan. Perform the steps in the following procedure in the order given. Ensure that only qualified
personnel perform system installation.

Preparing Equipment For Installation

Before Avaya installation staff arrive, you must:

1. Unpack the equipment. Make sure all of the items on the system order form are on the

packing slip that comes with the equipment.

2. Inspect all equipment for physical damage. Report any damage to your supplier.

3. If under-floor wiring is implemented, ensure hole placement.

4. Place equipment into position. Use the equipment room floor plan to position equipment, see 

Table 8: MPS System Checklist and Report

 on page 203.

5. Provide all external cables.
