1.6. TORQUE VALUES
Use of proper torque values is extremely important. Improper torquing can seriously affect
performance and reliability.
- NOTE -
Some special applications require variation from the standard torque values. Reference
should always be made to component overhaul procedures for recommendations.
If one of the element has been protected (either bolt or nut), the value must be multiplied by 0.90.
Multiply by 0.80 if the nut and bolt are both protected (electro-galvanized, bichromate..).
Torque wrenches are precision instruments and should be handled with care to ensure accurate
calibration. Each time the wrench is either blocked or damaged, it must immediately be removed
from service and checked.
