8.2.2 Installing the Radio Units
Do not remove the cover of the radio unit. (Warranty protection will lapse if the
cover is removed)
1. Fit the mounting bracket (see Fig. 4.82 for drilling template). Observe the min-
imum distances (see Fig. 4.83 ).
2. Position 1 AD2 socket near the radio unit.
Each radio unit takes up one AD2 bus: Do not connect any other terminals.
3. Up to a line length of 500 m (wire diameter 0.6 mm), the Ascotel DECT radio
unit can be powered directly via the AD2 bus. If the AD2 line is longer, the
radio unit will require an outside power supply. There are two possibilities
(
Tab. 4.78 ):
– Install the 230 VAC socket outlet and connect the special plug-in power
supply unit (230 VAC; 9...15 VADC, 400 mA, cable length 2 m).
– Provide the power supply via the AD2 user-network interface using an AD2
bus expanded to four wires.
First core pair (RJ12, Pin 3 = a, Pin 4 = b) for AD2 interface, second core
pair for powering the radio unit from a special power supply unit (RJ12, Pin
1 = +, Pin 2 = -).
