Do not use the joystick if the bellows is torn or cracked.
Instead, have it replaced immediately.

Your wheelchair is equipped with electric motors and must NEVER be
driven in water, in a river, a stream or the sea.
9.2.5 Preventative maintenance
Before using your chair in a humid or corrosive environment, it is reccomended to protect it by
carefully coating all metal surfaces with a waterproofing product. This product may for example
be an oil-based aerosol (such as WD40) or a dispersing agent based on lanolin (such as
Lanotec). This coating should act as a barrier between water and the painted metal surfaces of
your electric wheelchair. A lubricant (such as WD40) can be sprayed on the tilt mechanisms in
order to protect them.
The underside of the wheelchair (battery compartment and chassis components) can be
sprayed using a boom or other approved lifting device.
9.3. REGULAR CHECKS
Joystick: Once the control system is off, check that the joystick is not distorted or damaged and
returns to center when you release it. Make sure that the bellows of the joystick is not torn or
cracked and that all the electrical connections are correctly connected.
