To optimise the life of your batteries:
• Fully charge the batteries before use.
• Make sure the tyre pressure is suitable for the user’s weight and the terrain.
• Avoid stopping too frequently, keep a constant speed.
• Avoid inclinations
• Limit the weight of any baggage loaded onto the wheelchair.
7.10.5. LCD screen battery gauge
The batteries are charged if the battery gauge shows red, yellow, and green.
You should charge the batteries as soon as possible if the battery gauge shows red and yellow.
You should charge the batteries immediately if the battery gauge shows red, steady or flashing
slowly.
How does the battery gauge work?
• The battery gauge lets you know how much charge is left in the batteries. The best
way for you to use the gauge is to know how it behaves while you are driving the
wheelchair.
Like the fuel gauge in a car, it is not entirely accurate, but it will help you avoid running
out of “fuel”.
• When you turn on the control system, the battery gauge gives an estimate of the
remaining charge. The battery gauge gives a more accurate reading after approximately
a minute of driving.
• The charge level of your batteries depends on how you use your wheelchair, battery
temperature and their age. These factors affect the distance you can travel. All
wheelchair batteries will gradually lose their capacity as they age.
• If the battery gauge reading appears to be dropping faster than usual, your batteries
may be worn out. When changing used batteries, replace them with batteries of the
type recommended by Logo Silver. If you use another type, the battery gauge may be
inaccurate.

or risk leaving the user stranded in a dangerous position, such as
