Optima SD Control Features
Optima SD systems support three protocols: BCS* (Basic Control Structure), XNNet, and TCP/IP.
Several control options are available. Multiple control methods can be used on the same system.
Intuitive CP-15 front mounted control panel featuring backlit LCD and blue light buttons,
allowing quick and easy access to execute commands (including front panel security lockout)
AMX control devices – for control programming information, see the instruction manual for
the specific interface
APControl 3.0 software – free with all systems, provides easy single-user PC control of the
system
APWeb – optional TCP/IP control via an APWeb expansion board or external APWeb module
Supports AMX AutoPatch’s simple BCS serial control protocol
REMOTE link port – for direct connection with remote panels and SBC control pads
Supports third-party controllers
* BCS is sent as ASCII characters through the CONTROL (RS-232) port. For information on BCS

Front View
The enclosure is the structural basis of Optima SD systems. All Optima SD systems have an integral
CP-15 Control Panel for controlling the system’s switches and system attributes. The control panel can
also be used for system verification, redundant control, and troubleshooting. Directions for use are
provided in the
CP-15 Control Panel Instruction Manual (available on the AMX AutoPatch CD or at
www.amx.com ). For information on additional control options, see page 13.
