Chapter 18

Configuring CDP

Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to disable CDP on an
interface:

Enter global configuration mode.

configure terminal

Enter interface configuration mode, and enter the interface that you are
disabling CDP.

interface

interface-id

Disable CDP on an interface.

no cdp enable

Return to privileged EXEC mode.

end

(Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.

copy running-config startup-config

Enter global configuration mode.

configure terminal

Enter interface configuration mode, and enter the interface that you are
enabling CDP.

interface interface-id

Enable CDP on an interface after disabling it.

cdp enable

Return to privileged EXEC mode.

(Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.

copy running-config startup-config

This example shows how to enable CDP on an interface.
