Power Supplies
The OmniSwitch 8800 supports a total of four power supplies (refer to
for important redun-
dancy information). The OS8-PS-1375A power supplies are installed in the power supply bays located at
the bottom of the rear side of the chassis. See
for a slot diagram showing the power supply bays.

Off when the power supply
is operating under supported
temperature conditions.
Displays solid amber when a
temperature error is detected
in the power supply hous-
ing. If a temperature error is
detected, check for an air-
flow obstruction at the air
intake vent or at the back of
the chassis. If no airflow
obstruction exists, remove or
replace the power supply
immediately. Refer to the
sections below for important
information on replacing
power supplies and power
supply redundancy.
DC OK (Middle LED).
Displays solid green when
the power supply’s DC cur-
rent status is OK and the
power supply is operating.
Off when the power supply
is not operating.
AC OK (Bottom LED).
Displays solid green when
the power supply’s AC cur-
rent status is OK and the
power supply is operating.
Off when the power supply
is not operating.

It is recommended that you use
Alcatel-provided power cords.
Note
: You must use 220 Volt
power receptacles and 220 Volt
power cords.
Air Exhaust Vent.
The air
exhaust vent provides cooling
and temperature control for the
power supply. Maintain a front
clearance of at least six inches
to ensure proper airflow.

Alcatel provides a two-piece
metal retainer with each power
supply. This retainer is used to
secure the power cord so that it
cannot be accidentally pulled
from the socket.

Air Intake Vent.
The air
intake vent provides cooling
and temperature control for the
power supply. Maintain a front
clearance of at least six inches
to ensure proper airflow.
