Chassis Fan Trays
The switch houses three fan trays—two bays located at the top of the front side of the chassis and one bay
located at the middle of the back side of the chassis. The two front (chassis) fan trays, each consisting of
two independently-operating fans, are the main temperature control component of the switch. These fan
trays provide cooling airflow for all NI modules and CMMs. This airflow is a crucial factor in the switch’s
overall operability.
Chassis (Front) Fan Tray Location
Important.
The chassis fan trays are a required component. Never attempt to operate the switch without
these fan trays installed.
