Chassis Slot Numbering
The term
slot
refers to the position which CMM, SFM, or NI modules are installed in chassis. CMM slot
positions are designated as Slot A and Slot B. NI Slot numbers range from 1 to 16. SFM slot numbers
range from 1 to 5, numbered top to bottom. Power supply bays are also given specific slot numbers. Power
supply slot numbers are designated PS-1 through PS-4, from left to right.
Individual fans in the three fan trays are numbered by software (which can be displayed with the
command) as Fan-1 and Fan-2 in the left front fan tray, Fan-3 and Fan-4 in the right front fan tray, and
Fan-5, Fan-6, and Fan-7 in the rear fan tray. On the CMM there are three LEDs labeled
FAN 1
(left front
fan tray),
FAN 2
(right front fan tray), and
FAN 3
(rear fan tray) that provide status information for the
Chapter 3, “Chassis Management Module (CMM),”
for more information on fan tray LEDs.
