OS8-10GNI-UR1 Port Redundancy
In the event of a failure the primary port (labeled
1
on the front panel), the 10GNI module will automati-
cally switch over to the secondary port (labeled
2
on the front panel). No user intervention is required.
Please note that one port can be active at one time.
To force port 1 (PHY-A) or port 2 (PHY-B) as the primary 9active) port, use the
command by
entering 10gig slot followed by the slot number and either phy-a or phy-b.
For example, to configure port 2 (PHY-B) as the active port on the OS8-10GNI-UR1 module in slot 9
enter:
-> 10gig slot 10 phy-b
To confirm which port is the active one refer to the LEDs on the front panel (see
for information) or use the
command as shown below:
-> show 10gig slot 10
Slot 10: PHY B primary
Unsupported Software Features
The OS8-10GNI-UR1 is intended for core application and does not support some user applications. The
following is a list of software features that are not supported on the OS8-10GNI-UR1 in the current
release:

Group mobility
•
Authenticated VLANs (AVLANs)
•
Link aggregation
•
Learned Port Security (LPS)
•
Port mirroring
•
Hardware-based multicast routing
•
High-availability VLANs
