Overview
This chapter describes the DisplayPort Test Controller Graphical User Interface which is referred to as the
W2642A GUI. The W2642A GUI is a general purpose software application used for configuration, debug
purposes, and procedural verification. You can download the W2642A GUI from the following web page:

Tab functions
Setup - Provides the basic setup information for communicating with the W2642A. You can set the mode of
operation where you indicate the type of device you are testing. You can set the state or define and initiate hot
plug events.
EDID - Supports the following functions:

Read EDID values from a Sink connected to the W2642A Tx port.
ƒ
Load an EDID from a file
ƒ
Save an EDID
ƒ
Write EDID values to the EEPROM of a connected display. You may use the W2642A GUI to configure the
W2642A with a valid EDID for testing a source.
DPCD - Supports the following functions:
ƒ
Read an entire DPCD or a portion of a DPCD from a display connected to the W2642A Tx port.
ƒ
Load a DPCD from a file from your PC
ƒ
Save a DPCD to your PC
ƒ
Write DPCD values to specific addresses for emulation of sink change. You may use the W2642A GUI to
configure the W2642A with a valid DPCD for testing a source.
Log - Displays a Program Log window for transactions and status between the Test Controller and W2642A.
Hardware - Enables the expert user the capability to read and write one to sixteen bytes of information to DPTC
registers or to the EDID and DPCD data structures. It also enables you to connect to the W2642A and verify the
connection status.
