Introduction to the W2642A
The model W2642A is a test instrument based on the Quantum Data 882E. The W2642A incorporates the
Agilent-created AUX Channel Controller functionality for automated testing of the physical layer of the DisplayPort
main link. All other functions are disabled but can be added by contacting Quantum Data.
Connectors
The video interfaces on the W2642A (882E) applicable to DisplayPort are shown below.

Interface Description
ƒ
DISPLAYPORT AUX CHANNEL ANALYZER TO SOURCE connector enables you to monitor the AUX
channel transactions with the Quantum Data ACA option (not provided with the base W2642A). A DisplayPort
cable is connected from a DisplayPort source device to this port.

DISPLAYPORT AUX CHANNEL ANALYZER TO SINK connector enables you to monitor the AUX channel
transactions with the Quantum Data ACA option (not provided with the base W2642A). A DisplayPort cable is
connected from a DisplayPort display device to this port.

DISPLAYPORT TX connector outputs DisplayPort-compatible digital video signals. This connector is used
when testing a DisplayPort sink device during automated testing. Pattern generation is not provided with the
base W2642A but it can be added as an option. It emulates a DisplayPort source device.

DISPLAYPORT RX connector receives DisplayPort-compatible digital video signals. This connector is used
when testing a DisplayPort sink device during automated testing. It emulates a DisplayPort sink device. Signal
analysis is not provided with the base W2642A but it can be added as an option.
