Chapter 3 – Testing DisplayPort Sinks
Overview
This chapter describes the test setup for testing DisplayPort sinks (also referred to as receivers or display
devices). Testing the physical layer of DisplayPort display devices requires the Agilent J-BERT N4903A with the
N5990A-155 DisplayPort Sink Test Software. If you need to download new software, you can do so at the

Test workflow
Testing a DisplayPort display device involves the following high level steps:
1. Assemble all the test instruments, devices and equipment to test in your laboratory.
2. Complete the physical test setup in accordance with Figure 3-1 below.
3. Configure the Adaptor Board (p/n 99-00607) for testing a sink (See Figure 3-2 below).
4. Turn on the Agilent Stressed Signal Generator (J-BERT N4903) with the Agilent J-BERT N4903 with the
N5990A-155 Receiver Test Software.
