Initiate
State
If
the
trigger
system
is
on
a
downward
path,
it
travels
directly
through
the
initiate
state
without
restrictions
.
If
the
trigger
system
is
on
an
upward
path,
and
INITiate:CONTinuous
is
ON ,
then
it
exits
downward
to
an
event
detection
state
.
If
the
trigger
system
is
on
an
upward
path
and
INITiate:CONTinuous
is
OFF ,
then
it
exits
upward
to
the
idle
state
.

SOURce
The
:TRIGger:SOURce
command
species
which
particular
input
can
generate
the
event
required
to
continue
the
downward
path.
If
the
source
chosen
is
a
non-analog
signal
such
as
BUS ,
then
no
further
qualications
are
required
to
generate
an
event.
However
,
if
an
INTernal
or
EXTernal
analog
signal
is
chosen,
additional
qualications
may
apply
.
DELay
The
:TRIGger:DELay
command
allows
you
to
specify
a
time
delay
after
the
trigger
signal
is
detected.
F
or
example
,
you
may
want
to
delay
acquiring
data
until
5
milliseconds
after
the
positive
edge
to
allow
the
measured
signal
to
settle
.
Sending
*RST
sets
DELay
to
zero
.
IMMediate
The
:TRIGger:IMMeditate
command
bypasses
event
detection,
DELay
qualications
one
time
.
The
upward
path
through
the
event
detection
state
contains
only
one
condition.
If
the
condition
is
satised,
the
trigger
system
exits
upward.
Sequence
Operation
State
The
downward
entrance
to
the
sequence
operation
state
forces
the
4349B
to
start
a
measurement.
An
upward
exit
is
not
allowed
until
the
measurement
is
complete
.
