3CLS
The 3 CLS (clear status) command clears the status byte register , the operation status event
register , the questionable status register , and the standard event status register .
3ESE <numeric value>
The *ESE (Event Status Enable) command sets the bits of standard event status enable register .
3ESE?
The *ESE? (Event Status Enable) query reads the bits in the standard event status enable
register .
Query response is the decimal expression of the contents of the register , in <NR1> format.
3ESR?
The 3 ESR? (standard event status register) query returns the contents of the standard event
status register .
Query response is the decimal expression of the contents of the register , in <NR1> format.
3IDN?
The 3 IDN? (identication) query returns an identication string which is 4 elds separated by
commas .
Query response is <Field 1>,<Field 2>,<Field 3> ,<Field 4>.

Field 1: manufacturer (always Agilent T echnologies)
Field 2: model number (always 4349B)
Field 3: serial number in HP format (like 2419J00100)
Field 4: rmware version number (like 01.00)
3LRN?
The 3 LRN? (learn Device Setup) query returns a sequence of commands that places the 4349B
in the current state . The returned sequence of commands can be sent back to the 4349B to
place in this state .
3OPC
The 3 OPC (operation complete) command tells the 4349B to set bit 0 (OPC bit) in the standard
event status register when it completes all pending operations .
