commands
used
to
control
the
4349B
in
the
gpib
remote
mode
.

The
4349B
can
be
operated
using
the
General
Purpose
Interface
Bus(gpib ).
GPIB
commands
correspond
to
the
Standard
Commands
for
Programmable
Instruments(scpi ).
SCPI
is
the
instrument
command
language
for
controlling
instrument
that
goes
beyond
IEEE
488.2
to
address
a
wide
variety
of
instrument
functions
in
a
standard
manner
.
GPIB
Commands
GPIB
commands
can
be
separated
into
two
groups:
common
commands
and
subsystem
commands
.
Common
Commands
Common
commands
are
generally
not
measurement
related,
but
are
used
to
manage
macros
,
status
registers
,
synchronization,
and
data
storage
.
All
common
commands
begin
with
an
asterisk.
Common
commands
are
dened
in
the
IEEE
488.2
standard.

commands

all
measurement
functions
and
some
general
purpose
functions
.
Each
subsystem
is
a
set
of
commands
that
roughly
corresponds
to
a
functional
block
inside
the
instrument.

example
,
the
SOURce
subsystem
contains
commands
for
signal
generation,
while
the
ST
A
Tus
subsystem
contains
commands
for
accessing
status
registers
.
Subsystem
commands
have
a
hierarchical
structure
,
called
a
command
tree,
which
consists
of
several
key
words
separated
by
a
colon
between
each
word.
