Technical description
The head unit includes the discharge and inlet
valves.
The head of the 1
st
stage is of a lamellar type and
includes both the inlet and the discharge.
The inlet and discharge valves are located directly
in threaded seats on the 2
nd and 3 rd stage heads.
The inlet valves can be removed using the special
pin wrench (cod. SC000480), having first removed
the heads.
The discharge valves can be removed from the
outside.
See Chapter 11, “Maintenance”.
The purpose of the safety valves (see figure 5) is to protect the machine (and the cylinders) from
overpressure.
These valves are factory set at the following pressures:
- 1
st
stage safety valve: 8 bar;
- 2 nd stage safety valve: 50 bar;
- 3 rd stage safety or final valve: 225 bar - or 330 bar.
WARNING
Under no circumstances may these valves be adjusted to increase the calibrated pressure.If these
valves blow, check the cause that has led to the maximum pressure and take steps according to the
instructions given in paragraph 12.1. Any tampering with the safety valves causes serious damage and
an immediate cancellation of the guarantee.

Lubricating unit - High pressure compressor
Lubrication is carried out by means of a pin screwed
into the end part of the 2
nd and 3 rd stages
connecting rods (Fig. 9).
The 3 rd high pressure stage is lubricated by oil
vapours.
