via the same method as the audible alarms.

Restoring Default System Settings
Users may need to restore the default system settings in the following cases:
When required by the firmware update procedure.
When the password must be reset to access the RAID system.
4.6.1
Restoring Default Settings
To restore default settings for dual-controller models, follow the steps outlined below.
1.
Stop all host I/Os.
2.
Save the current configuration using the “Export NVRAM” function.
3.
Users should also record the existing ID/LUN mapping information (e.g., which
logical drive is associated with which host ID/LUN) because the default restora-
tion will erase the ID/LUN mapping associations.
4.
Remove Controller B from the chassis. Please refer to Removing the RAID Con-
troller.
5.
Power off the RAID system.
6.
Press and hold the Restore Default button (indicated by the blue arrow) on Con-
troller A. Users may use a straightened paper clip to press the button. While
pressing the Restore Default button, power on the RAID system.
7.
When the “Restore Def.” LED (indicated by the black arrow) lights up and the
“Default Restored” firmware event message appears, release the Restore
Default button (the system default has been restored).
8.
Restore previous settings using the “Import NVRAM from reserve space” or
“Restore NVRAM from Files” options in the firmware. ID/LUN mapping will be
restored.
*The single-controller system’s restore default procedure is now complete. For
dual-controller systems, please continue with the procedures below.
9.
Power off the system.
10.
Replace Controller A with Controller B (Controller B will be inserted into the slot
for Controller A). Leaving the Controller B slot empty and with Controller B in
slot A, perform Steps 1 to 8 again to restore the default settings for Controller B.
11.
Put both Controller A and Controller B into their original positions and power on
the system.
Note!
Restoring default settings is a last-resort function. All configurations,
such as parameters and host LUN mappings, will be erased.
