4.4 PSU/Cooling Module LEDs
The power supply unit (PSU) contains the LEDs for the PSU and the cooling module
statuses. If either the PSU or module fails, users must replace the PSU as soon as
possible. For additional details, please refer to Replacing the Power Supply Module.

Other monitoring schemes include audible alarms and I
2
C bus.
4.5.1 Audible Alarms
If any of the following components fail, an audible alarm will be triggered:

Cooling fan modules
 PSU modules
 CBM module
 Hard disk drives
 Sensors or presence detection circuitries
If an audible alarm is emitted, the system administrator must read the error message
on the terminal or SANWatch screen to determine what has triggered the alarm, and
then take appropriate actions to rectify the problem. The alarm can be turned off
using the mute button on the front panel. The alarm beep pattern is explained in the
Troubleshooting Guide included on the CD-ROM.
Status Description
Flashing (Green)
The system is connected to the power supply but the power switch
is not turned on.
On (Green) The PSU/cooling module is operating normally.
On (Red) The PSU/cooling module is faulty.
Note! If the temperature exceeds a preset threshold, the controller’s charger
circuits will stop charging. Users will then receive a message saying
“Thermal Shutdown/Enter Sleep Mode.” When the temperature falls
back within normal range, the battery will resume charging.
