DRIVE PEDAL LINKAGE ADJUSTMENTS
Adjust the drive pedal linkage if the machine has a tendency to creep forward or reverse with the pedal in the
neutral position.
1
Jack up the back of the machine so the drive wheel is off the floor, and install jack stands under the frame
for safety.
DANGER!
Do not adjust the drive pedal linkage with the drive wheel on the floor. With the wheel on the floor, the
machine could move during adjustment, causing property damage or bodily injury.
2
Check the cable between the pedal and the propulsion pump for free movement, lubricate or replace the
cable if necessary.
3
Check plunger “B” (see Figure 1) and its spring for proper operation and free movement, clean lubricate
or replace parts as required.
4
Start the engine, loosen the 2 “A” bolts and move bracket “C” to the left or right until the drive wheel stops
turning. Then tighten the “A” bolts and check again to make sure that the wheel does not turn with the
pedal in neutral.
5
The maximum forward and reverse travel speed of the machine is controlled by (2) stop bolts under the
drive pedal. Adjust the stop bolts so the maximum speed of the drive wheel is 165 - 175 RPM in forward
and 77 - 87 RPM in reverse. Adjusting the bolts for slower travel speed is acceptable. Adjusting the
bolts for a faster travel speed is
not
recommended.
