VACUUM SYSTEM TESTING
A waterlift gauge and adapter are required to properly check the performance of the vacuum system. To test
the system...
1
Remove the hose from the squeegee tool, install the vacuum gauge adapter in the hose and tighten the
hose clamp.
2
Start the engine and put the engine speed control switch in HIGH. Also make sure that the recovery tank
cover is closed tightly.
3
Hold the waterlift gauge tightly against the adapter as shown in Figure 2. Hold the adapter so that the
hole in the side of the adapter is sealed air tight. The gauge should read 40 inches.
If this reading is 10% or more below specs, look for a damaged gasket or a hole in one of the vacuum
hoses or in the drain hose.
4
Hold the waterlift gauge tightly against the adapter as shown in Figure 2. Hold the adapter so that the
hole in the side of the adapter is wide open. The gauge should read 38 inches.
If this reading is 10% or more below specs, look for built up debris in the vacuum hoses, the pipes in the
recovery tank or in the impeller muffler box.
