LOWER IMPELLER BEARING REMOVAL

Clean all dirt from the impeller shaft, using emery cloth, a file or a wire brush and loosen the “W” set
screws (see Figure 9).

Collar “X” must be turned to release the pillow block bearing from the shaft. Use a drift punch and
hammer to break the collar loose, as shown. If the collar does not release, try turning it in the opposite
direction.

Slide the pillow blocks off the impeller shaft.
