VACUUM SYSTEM SERVICE CHECKLIST
Whenever the vacuum system does not perform properly, the entire system should be inspected, following the
checklist below.
1
Inspect the hose between the squeegee and the recovery tank for damage.
2
Park the machine outside or near a floor drain. Open the engine cover, loosen the clamp holding the
squeegee (left) hose onto the recovery tank and pull the hose off the tank. Pour water down the hose (or
use a garden hose) to “back-flush” the squeegee hose. This will remove most built-up dirt.
3
Reach into the recovery tank inlet tube (where the squeegee hose was connected) and remove any built-
up dirt.
4
Inspect the hose between the recovery tank and the upper impeller for damage.
5
Check the gasket that seals the cover against the top of the recovery tank. It must seal air tight.
6
Check the recovery tank drain hose for damage. Also check the plug in the drain hose, make sure that it
seals air tight.
7
Check the tension on the belts between the crankshaft and the lower impeller shaft.
8
Check the tension on the belt between the lower impeller shaft and the upper impeller shaft.
9
Check the oil level in the upper impeller shaft housing.
10
Remove the cover from the impeller muffler and remove any debris.
11
After performing the above inspection and making necessary repairs, check the system again with the
waterlift gauge and adapter to make sure that it is operating properly.
