Safety 
Notes

Connection to the mains supply

Reference should be made to national wiring rules:

WARNING The mains supply should only be connected by 
a technically competent person and according to the         
current IEE wiring regulations.

For permanently connected equipment: “a readily accessible 
disconnect device shall be incorporated in the building                 
installation wiring”.
The disconnect device, fuse spur, should be a two-pole type and 
have contact separation of no less than 3mm.
The fuse in the spur should be 3A.

Mains Cable

The 250mA & 2.5A PSU uses 0.75mm

 H05VV-F type cable.

Equipment with a non-detachable power supply cord (namely 
the current 250mA PSU) the cable should have a minimum        
designation type not less than H03VV-F or H03VVH2-F.

Equipment with a detachable power supply cord (namely the 
current 2.5A PSU) should have a minimum designation type not 
less than H03VV-F or H03VVH2-F

For both PSU’s (input mains current less than 3A) the minimum 
conductor size is 0.75mm

or 18 AWG.

If stranded wire is to be supplied for connecting the PSU to the 
mains supply it cannot be soft soldered.
