Button for the positive movement of the mark on the engine pulley (to detect the advance)
Button for the negative movement of the mark on the engine pulley (to detect the advance)
If you press the button (e.g. at the time of setting the same position of the mark on the engine pulley
and the engine block), the last measured data are blocked (“freeze”) and turn red on the screen.
When you read the advance value and press the button again, the screen gets unblocked.

When you measure with the inductive sensor or semiconductor sensor, the advance value is being automatically
calculated from the sensor signals and presented on the screen. As there may be one or more marks on the
flywheel of the measured engine and these marks may be shifted in regard of the top dead center, it is necessary
to have the possibility to enter these parameters in the instrument. To do this, use a special function activated by
pressing the
function button, which makes part of the
Spark ignition engine measuring
menu
(see
Fig. 117).
The function, which is detailed in Chap. I - 7, also allows you to configure other engine parameters (e.g. number
of cylinders, two/four-stroke type etc.).
Notice:
a)
As a default, the advance measuring by the stroboscope is set. If you wish to measure by means of an
inductive or semiconductor sensor, you shall select this measuring by pressing the respective button,
see Fig. 122.
