Installation Tips
1.
Please download the LSI SAS 1068 driver form GCSD website and make
the driver diskette by using raw write utility like dd.
dd if=sco10409 of=a:

Insert the Installation CD and boot up the system. At the boot prompt
type:
Boot
: defbootstr link=lsil Sdsk=lsil(0,0,1,0)
In this example, going from the left of (0, 0, 1, 0), the first "0" is the HBA
number, the 2

“0” is the bus number, the "1" is the ID of the Disk (you
can check the ID form the SAS information during POST. You would see
the information as below during the POST), and the last "0" is the LUN.

When the screen shows “Please insert the fd(65)lsil volume and press
<Return>, or ‘q’ to quit:”, insert the LSI SAS 1068 driver diskette.

At Configuring optional software screen, do the following selections.
Network card:
Deferred
Network address:
No networking card configured
Video and graphics:
ATI RAGE PRO/LT-PRO/XL/Mobility (P/M/M1)
Mouse:
Microsoft Intellimouse, PS/2 (wheel)
Email system:
MMDF

The first system reboot after the installation, please use following
parameter at boot prompt.
Boot
: defbootstr Sdsk=lsil(0,0,1,0)
6.
When you boot into the OS, please modify two boot files for adding boot
string “Sdsk=lsil(0,0,1,0)” (that is what your system needed at boot:
prompt in install phase)

Modify /stand/etc/default/boot file
